Oxidised Asphalt is a specially processed, air-blown asphaltic material used to improve
lubricity, sealing, and high-temperature performance of drilling fluids. It provides an elastic,
temperature-resistant film that enhances wellbore stability and reduces filtration in water-based
and oil-based systems.
APPLICATION :
Used in oil-based and invert emulsion systems as a high-temperature fluid loss controller and
sealing agent. It can also be used in special spotting fluids and squeeze treatments for
sealing micro-fractures and improving stuck pipe freeing operations.
ADVANTAGES :
Excellent high-temperature fluid loss control.
Improves lubricity and reduces torque and drag.
Forms a flexible, resilient filter cake.
Enhances shale inhibition and wellbore stability.
Compatible with many oil-based and synthetic-based muds.
Can be part of spotting or sealing pill formulations.
