Gilsonite is a naturally occurring, solid hydrocarbon (natural asphalt) with a glossy, black, brittle appearance. It is soluble in aromatic and aliphatic solvents and partially in oil, making it highly useful as a performance additive.
APPLICATION :
- Improve fluid loss control in drilling muds
- Strengthen and seal porous or weak formations
- Reduce differential sticking and torque
- Enhance cementing by improving bonding and reducing slurry permeability
