Drilling Detergent is a specialized surfactant-based additive used in water-based drilling fluids to reduce surface tension and improve hole cleaning efficiency. It helps break foam, lowers mud–rock friction, and assists in the removal of cuttings, sticky clays, and gas bubbles from the wellbore. By minimizing bit balling, torque, and drag, drilling detergent enhances drilling rate, improves penetration, and contributes to smoother, safer drilling operations.
